Cookie Policy

Last updated: September 8, 2026

This policy lists every cookie and every piece of browser storage that BonusWallet uses, on this website and on the apps under the same domain: the merchant dashboard, the admin console, the customer join pages and the staff scanner.

The short version: we use only what is needed to sign you in, remember your language and keep the apps working. We run no analytics, no advertising trackers and no social media plugins, so we do not need to show you a cookie banner.

1. What cookies and browser storage are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser and reads back on your next request. Browser storage (local storage and session storage) works similarly but is only read by the page itself. Both are covered by the European ePrivacy rules, which require consent unless the storage is strictly necessary for a service you asked for.

2. Cookies we set

CookiePurposeLifetime
NEXT_LOCALERemembers the language you picked. On this website it is set the first time you open a page in a language other than your browser’s preference, and updated whenever you switch language; in the merchant dashboard it is set when you switch language.Session on this website; 1 year in the dashboard
sb-…-auth-token (possibly split into parts ending in .0, .1)Keeps you signed in after you log in. Shared across bonuswallet.eu subdomains so one login works on the website, the dashboard and the admin console.Until you log out, or up to 400 days
bw_locationRemembers the location you selected as a filter in the merchant dashboard.1 year
bw_act_asSet in the merchant dashboard only in the browser of a member of our support staff, when they open a business’s dashboard on its behalf to help. It records which business is being viewed and is never set for merchants or customers.Session; removed when the support session ends

All of these are strictly necessary or store a preference you explicitly chose. None of them is used to track you across other websites.

3. Browser storage we use

ItemPurposeLifetime
bw.onboarding.v1 (local storage)Saves your progress while you set up your loyalty card in the merchant dashboard, so you can resume if you leave.24 hours, or until setup is complete
bw-scanner-session (local storage)Keeps a staff member signed in to the staff scanner after entering their email and PIN.Until it expires (12 hours by default) or the staff member logs out
sentryReplaySession (session storage)A random session identifier used by our error monitoring so that, when an error occurs, the steps leading to it can be attached to the report.Until you close the tab
Service worker cache (staff scanner)Stores the scanner’s pages so it opens quickly and keeps working on a weak connection.Until the scanner is updated

4. Error monitoring

We use Sentry to learn about errors in our apps. When something goes wrong, the browser sends a report with technical details: the page, the browser and device type, the error and, for the merchant dashboard, the customer join pages and the staff scanner, a pseudonymous identifier (the internal ID of the business, the customer or the staff member, never a name or email address). When an error occurs, a replay of the interaction that led to it may be attached; text and media in replays are masked by default. Sentry sets no cookies and is not used for advertising. We treat this as strictly necessary to keep the service working and secure.

5. No analytics, no advertising, no banner

We do not use Google Analytics or any other analytics service, advertising pixels, fingerprinting or social media buttons that track you. Because everything we store on your device is strictly necessary or a preference you chose, no consent banner is required. If we ever introduce something that needs your consent, we will ask for it first and update this policy.

6. Managing cookies

You can delete or block cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time. If you block the sign-in cookie you will not be able to log in, and if you clear site data the staff scanner will ask for the email and PIN again.

7. Changes and contact

We update this policy when what we store changes. The date at the top shows the current version. Questions go to contact@bonuswallet.eu. See also our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
